iPeople SC Solutions is currently recruiting for a Principal Accountant for our client based in North London and surrounding areas. The successful post holder will work in the Chief Accountant's Team and support the Chief Accountant and Deputy Chief Accountant in maintaining the integrity of the Council's accounts and producing the Statement of Accounts each year.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and preparation of working papers and managing audit queries within their areas.
- Working closely with the Chief Accountant and Deputy Chief Accountant to ensure that the Council's financial reporting processes, procedures and policies are pragmatic, fit for purpose, up to date with best practice, and deliver maximum value to the Council.
- Collection fund and revenue accounting including the completion of notes to the council's statutory accounts, group accounts, cash flow statement and statistical returns.
Requirements:
- You will be a technical expert who enjoys and has a flair for financial accounting.
- You will be a natural problem solver, with excellent Excel skills, and a desire to constantly strive for improvements in all areas of work.
- Enjoy team building and helping more junior staff achieve their goals and develop their skills.
- Must hold CCAB qualifications.
Working Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
