The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

The key purpose of the Domestic Abuse Housing Needs Officer post is to provide a high standard of housing assessment and homeless prevention to domestic abuse customers requesting help for housing assistance and to meet the Council’s statutory duties towards housing applicants under the Housing Act 1996 Parts VI and VII.

The Domestic Abuse Housing Needs Officer will be working with survivors with multiple disadvantage and complex needs. The officer will have a good understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on survivors and their children.

The role will be required to make good quality decisions on homelessness and housing need in accordance with the law, policies and procedures operating within the department and reduce the number of households living in temporary accommodation and unsuitable housing in the borough.

Candidates should have experience in working with client groups with complex needs (domestic abuse is desirable) and they should come into the office every Thursday to attend advice drop-in sessions that we run. Every candidate will give advice and support to survivors attending the advice drop-in.
