iPeople SC Solutions is currently recruiting for a Consultant Psychologist for our client based in Worthing, West Sussex area.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide professional leadership for psychology and psychological therapies, leading on appraisal, professional development and supervision systems and standards of professional behaviour for all psychologists in order to effect high quality psychological practice within this specialist service.
- Work autonomously, holding a specialist case load and working within professional guidelines, and provide professional leadership by exercising responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the locality teams.
- Ensure that suitable systems are in place for the clinical and professional supervision and support of all other psychologists in those teams.
- Propose and implement policy and service development changes in relation to psychology and psychological therapies across the service.
- Ensure that systems for effective recruitment, professional appraisal and identification of CPD are in place and working effectively in the service.
- Ensure relevant audit, policy and service development and research activities are carried out by psychology staff working in the team.
- Formulate plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a client presenting problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of their strengths and difficulties, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy, across the full range of care settings.
Requirements:
- Post graduate doctoral level training in applied psychology, as approved by the HPC, including specific models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.
- Assessed extensive experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist, including significant post-qualification experience.
- Experience of the successful professional management of qualified and prequalified applied psychologists.
- Experience of the application of applied psychology in different cultural contexts and experience of working in a multicultural framework.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the theory and practice of leadership and management in mental health services.
