iPeople SC Solutions is recruiting a Homeless Prevention Coordinator for our client based in the City of Westminster, Greater London. This service is to work specifically and directed by Housing Needs on the reduction of clients who are currently occupying high cost nightly booked TA accommodation. The team will work under the direction of the existing Head of Accommodation to enable move on of clients out of this TA to alternative provision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exceptional customer care skills delivered through a compassionate and empathy-focused approach with all contacts with clients and applicants.
- Experienced in the provision of advice and assistance on homelessness and prevention.
- Encouragement and support offered to service-users to seek professional and medical help where appropriate.
- Work in a ‘mindful’ way to ensure the customer journey and client experience is the main focus through all contact and work that the team delivers.
- Consistently work as part of a team, take direction, and understand the essential aspects of working together to achieve the targeted approach to this work.
- Comprehensive background working in homelessness and the legal aspects of this work, including housing duty investigations and applications, decisions and duties owed to an applicant in accordance with Part VII Housing Act 1996.
- Process management of all aspects in homelessness management, including S202 reviews on decisions and suitability.
- Understand legal evictions, such as Section 21 notices, Section 8 notices, and Possessions Orders.
- Support those in financial crisis, providing referrals and advice through IDVA services, Welfare Benefits, and other means to increase income to families.
- Experience in oversight of immigration issues, Home Office asylum pressures, and clients presenting with No Recourse to Public Funds.
- Form effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including partner organisations internal and external to Westminster.
- Follow best practices and work in line with all relevant legislation.
- Provide recommendations to improve overall service delivery, focused on outputs and outcomes as directed by the Manager of the service.
