iPeople SC Solutions is recruiting Young People Support Workers to work for our client based in Birmingham and the Wolverhampton area. The successful candidate can make a real difference to the lives of young people by providing advice and guidance that can improve their longer-term prospects in life. The successful candidate will support young people aged 16-25 who have a wide range of support needs, including mental health issues, problems associated with substance misuse, issues relating to family breakdown and support geared towards helping first-time young mothers and their babies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support young people to find, establish and maintain their homes and tenancies and preventing homelessness
  • Provide intensive, high-level practical support in response to crisis/relapse in partnership with other agencies.
  • Provide short-term, focused practical support that enables young people to sustain/maintain their current home
  • Developing their independent living skills and opportunities to learn, work and take part in health-promoting and social activities
  • Supporting them to stay safe and secure in their homes and in their communities
  • Supporting them to access relevant health and social care services
  • Promoting young people’s financial inclusion and take-up of benefits

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, and roles that require flexibility to work across shift patterns, including days, nights & weekends.

Requirement

  • Experience working within a Care environment
  • 1 year of experience supporting vulnerable people within a housing or community setting
  • Knowledge of disadvantaged vulnerable user groups
