To design, implement, and maintain robust security solutions that protect the organisations digital assets, infrastructure, and data. The IT Security Engineer plays a critical role in proactively identifying vulnerabilities, automating security processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, enabling the business to operate securely and efficiently in a dynamic threat landscape.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Monitor and analyse SIEM, network, and endpoint logs to detect threats, vulnerabilities, and anomalies.
  • Evaluate and triage security alerts, accurately distinguishing genuine threats from false positives and applying appropriate containment and mitigation.
  • Act as the escalation point for IT Support on security-related issues.
  • Lead cybersecurity incident investigations, including malware analysis and digital forensics, and produce detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Support and participate in incident response activities and exercises to strengthen readiness.
  • Provide out-of-hours support where reasonable, including response to escalations.
