OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: To perform secondary operations such as deburring, countersinking, and assemblies to a high standard.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- To deburr a variety of components by hand and using belt sanders.
- To countersink and drill a variety of detailed precision sheet metal components using a pillar drill.
- To punch and form precision sheet metal components using a fly press.
- To carry out assembly tasks on minor mechanical assemblies.
- Responsible for carrying out all tasks allocated by the Supervisor in a timely and efficient manner.
- Responsible for ensuring that a high standard of housekeeping is maintained.
- Responsible for ensuring that all Health & Safety Policies are adhered to.
- To carry out any other tasks where reasonable and relevant within any Manufacturing area which includes Assembly, Machine Shop, and Fabrication. This is not an exhaustive list.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience in the aerospace and/or Engineering industry.
- Demonstrable practical skills including competency in using hand tools.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Maths/English GCSE, (or equivalent) at grade C or above.
- Engineering related qualification / Apprenticeship.
- Ability to use engineering measuring equipment.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
