OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: To perform secondary operations such as deburring, countersinking, and assemblies to a high standard.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • To deburr a variety of components by hand and using belt sanders.
  • To countersink and drill a variety of detailed precision sheet metal components using a pillar drill.
  • To punch and form precision sheet metal components using a fly press.
  • To carry out assembly tasks on minor mechanical assemblies.
  • Responsible for carrying out all tasks allocated by the Supervisor in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring that a high standard of housekeeping is maintained.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all Health & Safety Policies are adhered to.
  • To carry out any other tasks where reasonable and relevant within any Manufacturing area which includes Assembly, Machine Shop, and Fabrication. This is not an exhaustive list.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in the aerospace and/or Engineering industry.
  • Demonstrable practical skills including competency in using hand tools.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Maths/English GCSE, (or equivalent) at grade C or above.
  • Engineering related qualification / Apprenticeship.
  • Ability to use engineering measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
