A leading Patent & Trade Mark Attorney firm is seeking an experienced Paralegal to support two senior fee earners in their Trade Marks team. This is a key role within a well-established practice, offering exposure to high-quality work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
The role offers a high level of responsibility, where you will contribute directly to delivering an excellent client service and play an important part in managing trade mark portfolios.
Key responsibilities
This is a varied role, including:
- Managing all stages of trade mark applications, including processing, checking, and reporting
- Preparing and filing UK, EU, international, and foreign national trade marks and designs
- Responding to client queries and supporting the management of large client portfolios
- Assisting with recordal projects and maintaining accurate records
- Preparing exhibits for witness statements
- Drafting responses to official objections and provisional refusals
- Handling opposition matters, including preparing and filing notices, extensions of time, and related formalities
- Preparing and filing recordal forms
- Managing and monitoring multiple diaries to ensure deadlines are met, including:
- Maintaining key dates and reminders
- Coordinating meetings and calendars
- Following up with clients and internal stakeholders
- Handling correspondence, including post, emails, and reporting letters
- Identifying urgent matters and escalating where appropriate
- Supporting billing processes, including preparing cost estimates and responding to account queries
Skills & experience
- Previous experience as a Paralegal within a Trade Marks team (min. 5 years)
- CITMA Paralegal qualification (or significant experience)
- Strong working knowledge of UKIPO, EUIPO, and international trade mark procedures
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
