An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Junior Legal Secretary to join a busy and well-established legal team specialising in Intellectual Property litigation matters. This role will provide comprehensive support to senior solicitors and offers a varied workload, combining secretarial and personal assistant responsibilities. The successful candidate will be capable of working with minimal supervision, managing competing priorities and delivering consistently high standards of work within a fast-paced environment.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a CILEX or Legal Secretary Diploma (or equivalent). The role would suit someone with around 12 months legal administration/secretarial experience who is ready to take on their own fee earner allocation. This is a permanent full-time role and in return the firm offers a leading salary, bonus, and benefits package and 40% remote working.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparing correspondence, legal documentation and other formal documents.
  • Assisting with the drafting and administration of agreements.
  • Managing daily administrative tasks, including file management, email filing, scanning and photocopying.
  • Sending correspondence and emails on behalf of solicitors.
  • Conducting conflict checks in accordance with firm procedures.
  • Calculating and preparing client invoices, including debit and credit notes.
  • Opening and closing files using case management systems.
  • Updating and maintaining key dates, deadlines and diary entries.
  • Processing expense requests.
  • Providing PA support, including diary management, arranging travel and booking flights.
  • Ensuring accurate record keeping and maintaining high levels of confidentiality at all times.
Essential Requirements:
  • Previous legal administration secretarial experience gained within any legal discipline.
  • Strong typing and keyboard skills.
  • Experience preparing client bills and cases for court e.g. bundling highly desirable.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience managing deadlines and maintaining accurate records of key dates.
  • Proven ability to work successfully in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including strong spelling and grammar.
Desirable:
  • Previous experience using digital dictation and audio typing systems.
  • Familiarity with legal case management systems.
