IP Support are recruiting on behalf of a leading professional services firm for an experienced Billing Assistant to join a busy and supportive Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with legal or professional services billing experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering an exceptional service to both internal and external clients.
The Role
You'll play a key role within a high-performing Billing team responsible for processing a high volume of invoices per month. Working closely with Partners, fee earners and colleagues across the business, you'll ensure accurate and timely billing while managing client queries and meeting important monthly deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing monthly bills and credit notes from WIP.
- Processing write-offs, transfers and billing adjustments.
- Following fee earner billing instructions accurately.
- Managing client-specific billing arrangements.
- Responding promptly to billing and invoice queries.
- Liaising with Partners, fee earners and support teams to resolve billing issues.
- Managing the shared billing inbox.
- Producing billing reports and analysis.
- Sending invoices and maintaining client records.
- Supporting colleagues across the Finance team during busy periods.
- Contributing to continuous improvements in billing processes.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous billing experience within a law firm or professional services environment.
- A solid understanding of legal billing processes.
- Experience using Aderant (highly desirable).
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and client service skills.
- A methodical, accurate approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Good Microsoft Office skills.
- E-billing experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- A positive, flexible attitude and willingness to support the wider team, particularly during month-end.
