We are working with a leading European intellectual property firm, who are looking to recruit an AI Paralegal to join their knowledge team. In this position you will play a key role in supporting the firm’s AI initiatives. You will help translate AI use cases into practical, structured workflows that enhance how the fee-earners lawyers deliver their work. You will also work closely with the Knowledge Director, Knowledge Team, and fee earners, to help develop guidance on how to use AI effectively within the practice—covering everything from prompt design to validating outputs and applying professional judgement. This position will be an initial 12-month contract.
AI Workflow Development
- Support the design, documentation, and maintenance of AI-enabled legal workflows
- Help ensure workflows are practical, repeatable, and easy to follow
- Draft and maintain clear guidance on using AI tools in legal work
- Highlight common AI limitations and risks
Validation & Quality Assurance
- Help embed review and sense-checking stages into AI workflows
- Support comparison of outputs against authoritative sources (e.g. legislation, case law, precedents)
- Act as a point of contact for fee earners using AI tools
- Support a culture of critical thinking and responsible AI use
- Maintain AI-related content within the firm’s knowledge systems
- Monitor developments in AI tools and update guidance accordingly
- Support continuous improvement of AI processes and standards
Qualifications
- A law degree or equivalent qualification/experience
- Strong interest and ideally experience working with AI and emerging legal technologies
- Familiarity with generative AI tools and their limitations
- Interest in intellectual property law (desirable)
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems quickly
