Network Presales Design Architect (HLD) Security & Connectivity (LAN and SD-WAN) Remote with travel to client sites. Paying circa £75/82k+ £6k car allowance + 15/20% bonus.

Extensive customer-facing experience and great client engagement skills. As an integral member of the Professional Services team, you’ll provide expert consultation and design solutions across the LAN/WAN/SD-WAN/Connectivity portfolio. Your responsibilities will include guiding Bid Management and Sales teams by performing presales design tasks, such as gathering and analysing requirements, developing High-Level Designs (HLD), creating cost estimates, producing technical schematics, and assisting in the qualification of bids and proposals. You will manage the design and presentation of technology solutions, maintaining ownership throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally, you will support both the project management and implementation teams, ensuring a smooth delivery of the solution and final acceptance. This includes collaborating with implementation and support teams to tailor services based on customer needs and determining the necessary professional services for the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and analyse customer requirements to align with business outcomes.
  • Identify and qualify suitable opportunities in support of the company’s sales strategy.
  • Engage with key clients to understand their business challenges, identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities, and establish trusted advisory relationships.
  • Interpret tender documentation and contribute to bid responses.
  • Write and review technical presentations and proposals.
  • Maintain technical ownership and oversee cost management for solutions.
  • Conceptualize and design technology solutions.

You will also ensure all proposal-related documentation, including schematics and cost models, are properly maintained and that High-Level Design documents are suitable for the creation of Low-Level Designs during the implementation phase.

Experience required

ESSENTIAL

  • In-depth understanding and extensive experience in connectivity and networking, including Local Area Networking (LAN), Wireless LAN (WLAN), Wide Area Networking (WAN – MPLS, P2P, SD-WAN, multi-cloud connectivity), and network security services (e.g., SASE, DDoS, NAC).
  • Proven ability to collaborate with prospective customers to scope and implement solutions in a cost-effective manner.
  • Demonstrable expertise in designing and pricing LAN/SD-WAN solutions.
  • Strong experience in designing and pricing cloud and network security services (SASE, DDoS, SSE, etc.) from key vendors, including leading providers.
  • Extensive knowledge of WAN technologies (MPLS, SD-WAN, multi-cloud connectivity).
  • Comprehensive understanding of the WAN/LAN/Security market.
  • Proven track record in enterprise-level presales roles.
  • Relevant experience and knowledge of networking and security suppliers, including: Cisco/Meraki, Fortinet, Zscaler.

Additionally, experience in the following areas is required:

  • Transition and migration methodologies.
  • Creation of managed service offerings tailored to specific customer needs.
  • Proof of Concept (PoC) development.
  • Contribution to product and proposition development within the wider team.
