A highly successful Managed Service Provider, offering Connectivity, Cloud, Infrastructure, and more, is seeking a Network Engineer to join their 24/7 operations team.
Location: London (24/7 shift pattern – 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off)
The Role:
- As a 2nd Line Network Engineer, you will take ownership of Layer 2 and 3 customer tickets, changes, and requests, as well as work with Next Gen Firewalls.
- You will be working closely with and receiving training/guidance from senior engineers to resolve technical challenges.
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer network issues across switching, routing, wireless, and security environments.
- Manage support tickets, incidents, and changes with professionalism and accountability.
- Deliver clear, consistent communication with customers and internal teams.
- Contribute to project delivery by assisting with configuration and implementation.
- Maintain accurate documentation including Visio diagrams and technical summaries.
What You Will Bring:
- Experience with Next-Gen Firewalls - Fortigate, Palo Alto etc.
- Solid understanding of networking principles (CCNA R&S / JNCIS-ENT level knowledge).
- Strong grasp of Layer 2 & 3 protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, VRRP).
- Cisco or Juniper experience.
- Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent certifications (CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS).
- Firewall experience (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco).
