Passionate about customer facing IT support? Looking to get your foot in the door with an MSP and build a proper career in IT? If so, please see below...
We’re working with a growing Managed Service Provider looking for a Junior / 1st Line Onsite Support Engineer to join their technical team. This could be an excellent opportunity for someone early in their IT career who has the right technical foundations and attitude but needs an employer prepared to invest in their training and development.
You’ll be working alongside experienced engineers and getting exposure to a much broader range of technology than you would typically see in an internal IT role. The environment covers:
- Microsoft 365
- Windows 10/11
- Active Directory & Entra ID
- Exchange Online
- Networking, Wi-Fi, DNS & DHCP
- Switches, routers & firewalls
- Hardware and software deployments
- Servers & cloud infrastructure
- Backups, security and endpoint management
- Ticketing, PSA & RMM platforms
You’ll initially focus on 1st Line support and onsite engineering, helping users, troubleshooting technical issues and learning how a professional MSP operates. But the important bit is where it can take you. There’s a genuine opportunity to develop through Service Desk → Senior Support → Project Engineering → Consultancy / Architecture, depending on where your strengths and interests take you. You don’t need years of MSP experience.
We’d be interested in somebody with some hands-on IT experience, whether that’s a junior support role, apprenticeship, college/university, internal IT or another technical environment. What matters is that you’re technically curious, good with people, willing to learn and genuinely want to build a career in IT.
You’ll be joining a growing MSP with experienced engineers around you, excellent training and genuine technical progression rather than being stuck resetting passwords forever. A full UK driving licence is required, as the position includes onsite customer support around Greater Manchester.
