Role Description

The Pipe Fitter Welder will work on a contract basis in a hybrid arrangement, primarily on-site in Liverpool with some work‑from‑home flexibility for planning and documentation tasks. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include fabricating, fitting, and installing pipe work and associated steel structures according to engineering drawings and specifications. The role involves performing coded welding on high‑pressure systems, conducting pressure testing, and assisting with vessel, tank, and modular construction. The Pipe Fitter Welder will also support mechanical maintenance activities, contribute to safe machine and equipment installation, and collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, safely, and to quality standards. Qualifications

  • Strong pipe fitting and fabrication skills, including experience working with carbon and stainless steel pipe work and structural steel.
  • Coded welding qualifications (e.g., TIG/MIG/MMA) with proven experience in high‑pressure welding applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with pressure testing procedures, mechanical installation, and maintenance of industrial systems.
  • Solid understanding of industrial health, safety, and environmental standards, with a commitment to safe working practices.
  • Relevant trade apprenticeship, NVQ/City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in pipe fitting, welding, or mechanical engineering.
