QUALIFICATIONS

JOB GOAL: Assist in nutrition services as needed in order to enhance student learning, promote the overall efficiency of the school system, and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comply with required district, department, and federal Child Nutrition policies as well as health standards and sanitation procedures.
- Follow attendance rules, including absence notification procedures.
- Practice good personal hygiene.
- Manage multiple tasks and use time efficiently.
- Assist in preparing food in large quantities by using appropriate methods and standardized recipes.
- Read, follow, and understand standardized recipes.
- Recognise properly prepared food items by temperature, sight, taste, and smell.
- Properly use quantity food service production equipment including convection, conventional and combination ovens, griddles, steamers, steam kettles, slicers, mixers, dish machine, and other equipment.
- Perform accurate mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Follow written and oral directions.
- Maintain district email account and check regularly for correspondence.
- Assist Department Head with food orders for their department per established timelines.
- Maintain appropriate food inventory levels and complete month-end inventory for the designated department.
- Complete all required production paperwork, including production records and portion sheets for the secondary location and satellite locations served.
- Operate the point-of-sale computer system as cashier during serving times and perform basic accounting duties.
- Serve students during meal times and restock serving lines as directed.
- Be courteous and respectful to all customers and co-workers.
- Follow established sanitation guidelines for both food preparation and clean-up and perform clean-up duties as assigned.
- Perform all the duties of a Department Head when they are absent.
- Fill in for other staff if someone is absent, including traveling to satellite locations as needed to serve or cashier.
- Attend and complete district assigned training, which may include online or in-person training.
- Other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 175 Contract Days + Department and District required training. Work year as established by the Board of Directors. Wage established by district adopted salary schedules.
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
