The Role
This is a full-time SysAdmin role, located in the UK. The SysAdmin will be responsible for day-to-day network administration, providing technical support to users, troubleshooting any technical issues, and supporting information technology systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based servers and systems
- Manage server and network deployments, updates, and patches to ensure security and performance
- Work with cloud and virtualisation technologies
- Collaborate with other teams to design, implement, and maintain IT solutions
- Resolve high-priority incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and drive improvements in service quality.
- Serve as a technical resource for platform and infrastructure services, maintaining detailed platform documentation.
- Participate in on-call rotation for out-of-hours support and incident response.
Required Skills
- Strong experience with Linux (preferably CentOS, Rocky Linux, or RHEL) and system deployment.
- Experience with Cisco, Juniper, VyOS, and Fortigate hardware and firewalls.
- Proficiency in Puppet for configuration management.
- Experience with KVM virtualization and managing guest VMs.
- Basic knowledge of MariaDB/MySQL databases and SQL queries.
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience with ElasticStack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for monitoring and logging.
- Experience with Ceph storage and managing large-scale storage environments.
- Familiarity with Office 365 user management processes.
- Experience with Zabbix or similar for system monitoring.
