We are looking for a hands-on System / Platform Engineer to join our client's London office and support a small, high-performing development team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong Linux and cloud background who is also experienced with Squid, CDN, or proxy technologies, especially in environments that involve web scraping or data-intensive workloads. You will be the primary infrastructure point of contact for the team, helping to build, scale, and maintain systems that keep our platform running smoothly and efficiently.
What You'll Do:
- Manage and maintain Linux-based systems (deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting)
- Set up, optimize, and manage Squid, Nginx, or other proxy/CDN layers
- Support cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred; GCP/Azure also welcome)
- Automate deployments and infrastructure tasks using Terraform / Ansible / scripts
- Work closely with developers to ensure stable, efficient environments for development and production
- Monitor performance, handle incident response, and continuously improve reliability
- Manage networking configurations (DNS, load balancing, VPNs, routing)
Must-Have Skills:
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in System / Platform / Cloud Engineering
- Solid Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
- Strong experience with Squid, CDN, or proxy management
- Experience with AWS (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, etc.) or similar cloud platforms
- Scripting/automation experience (Bash, Python preferred)
- Good understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs)
