The predicted salary is between 48000 - 72000 £ per year.

We are currently looking for a Layout Engineer to support a major EPR nuclear project based on the Hinkley Point C construction site. This role will be part of the on-site Joint Design Office (JDO), embedded within the Layout Team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assess site requests for potential impact on the plant layout
  • Collect and analyze inputs across disciplines and contractors
  • Provide clear and justified technical assessments, including: 3D models and installation tolerances
  • Interface considerations and design intent compliance
  • Proposal of 3D model updates (with CAD team support)
  • Coordinate with HVAC, piping, civil, electrical, and equipment disciplines
  • Communicate with design back-offices and construction/installation teams
  • Launch and monitor change implementation processes
  • Report progress, identify risks, raise alerts, and document lessons learned
  • Participate in layout team meetings and support continuous improvement

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree qualified with several years of relevant experience
  • Experience on EPR or other large-scale nuclear projects
  • Proficiency in 3D design tools (Navisworks preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with 3D model visualization and layout analysis
  • Strong knowledge of layout and installation rules
  • Good understanding of nuclear plant operations and related safety issues (e.g. radiological protection, fire, flooding, high-energy line ruptures, etc.)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
