You will be required to work from our head office in Wigston, Leicester a minimum of two days per week, with the remainder of your working hours undertaken from home. The successful applicant must have the pre‑existing right to both live and to work in the UK.

About the role

We are looking for a highly organised and detail‑oriented Development Officer to join IOSH. You will play a crucial part in maintaining the quality and integrity of the IOSH brand by managing the quality assurance process for learning content developed by third‑party organisations. Working within a small, dedicated team you will administer the end‑to‑end course approval process and hold the autonomy to make key decisions. You will use your expertise gained in a learning environment, and occupational safety and health knowledge, to review training courses and ensure they meet our rigorous IOSH standards. When content does not meet the standards, you will be responsible for providing clear, constructive feedback and advice through accurate written reports that include recommendations for improvement. You will act as a solution‑focused partner, addressing and resolving all queries related to our tailored course approval service.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Exceptional attention to detail for proofreading learning content and identifying necessary improvements.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort building rapport and managing relationships with external clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience writing accurate, concise, and supportive reports.
  • Ability to manage your own caseload of projects, handle multiple projects with differing deadlines, and demonstrate strong time‑management skills.
  • Significant experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good operational understanding of administrative processes and procedures.
  • Capability to provide verbal and written feedback, including structured advice and guidance to customers.
  • Demonstrated experience writing high‑quality, professional reports in English.
  • Previous experience working in a Learning and Development environment.
  • A formal adult training qualification (e.g., Cert Ed, PTLLS, Level 3 Award in Education and Training, or equivalent) or relevant experience.
  • A demonstrable understanding or qualification in occupational safety and health.
  • Experience using CRM systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365.
