Our client, a prominent entity in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Safety Manager to join their team on a contract basis. This role, integral to project RESOLUTE VALKYRIE, requires a seasoned professional with Security Clearance and substantial expertise in Safety Engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Support the development and maintenance of policy and process to satisfy the DE&S corporate standards for Acquisition Safety.
- Lead on the delivery of key underpinning airworthiness strategies and plans, ensuring that those required by the TAA are issued.
- Develop, manage, and maintain effective tailored Safety Management Systems.
- Identify and analyse hazards and contribute to the identification and evaluation of risk reduction measures, ensuring that these are adequately documented and managed.
- Provide task assurance of the Safety management system.
- Manage the Master Evidence Record, ensuring claim owners conduct regular reviews.
- Take prime responsibility for the production and management of the TASA with all other claim owners.
- Work with colleagues at all levels to ensure compliance with relevant UK and EU legislation and regulations, MOD regulations and DE&S Policy.
- Provide recommendations to the TAA should relevant legislation, regulation or policy change that may impact on the project.
- Develop, produce and maintain project safety assurance plans, monitors compliance, and ensure that safety assurance evidence is gathered and assessed for Type Airworthiness Safety Assessment preparation, contributing to the Air System Safety Case.
- Produce the TASA.
- Lead on Production of Equipment Contribution Interface Document.
- Lead on the preparation, conduct and delivery of the Platform Safety Panel.
- Produce in line with guidance DT contribution to 2 Safety reviews (ASSWG and 2 ESR).
- Produce, review, endorse, and recommend acceptance of safety artefacts.
- Assess OEM provided safety artefacts as part of a SQEP panel.
- Oversee the management of contractual aspects to ensure safety requirements are captured and the management of contractors who perform safety activities.
- Support the Dep Chf Eng to identify shortfalls of safety artefacts which should have been provided, or updated, in line with the contractual position.
- Provide informed safety advice to decision makers through Project Safety Panels.
- Update ECID and produce SEIN as required.
- Produce TASA Addendum or TASA Status Reports as required post PSP.
