Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor

HSE Recruitment are currently exclusively working with a leading pharmaceutical and retail company on the recruitment of a Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor for their warehouse and logistics division. This role is a regional position covering the North, ranging from the Midlands to Scotland and Northern Ireland so extensive travel is to be expected. This role is perfect for someone passionate and driven, looking for a role that provides support but also the opportunity to work independently and with minimal supervision.

As a Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor you will mainly be engaging with site leads and the management of 10 individual sites across the region, so you will need to be confident and capable of engaging with people at shop floor and management alike. You will have multi-site experience and will understand the complexity of a large organisation.

This role is all about relationship building, so you will need to be personable and, in addition to being technically sound, understand how to speak to people and bring safety to life. Particularly of interest would be those who have come up through operations and therefore understand commerciality and the priorities of the operational team. The Safety team here is very close-knit team so team dynamic is really important, and you will need to be a team player capable of communicating well, and sharing best practice.

The business is currently going on a massive improvement journey, so a bonus would be a professional with a good understanding of designing risk out, ideally someone from a forward thinking safety business with behavioural safety experience. You will need to have experience in a multi site warehouse/distribution environment and be qualified to NEBOSH Certificate level or equivalent as a minimum. In return you will receive a salary of £45-48k per annum plus car allowance, mileage and hotel as needed, plus substantial discounts at company affiliated stores.
