Support Worker – Children and Young People – Cardiff Shifts – Days (8am to 2pm or 2pm to 10pm) and Nights (7pm to 7am) Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children, ensuring their well-being and development in a safe and nurturing environment. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young individuals while working within a supportive organisation committed to professional growth. Responsibilities * Assist children with daily activities, including personal care, play and educational tasks * Develop and implement individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs * Support children in engaging with educational and recreational activities to promote development * Maintain clear communication with families, colleagues and external professionals regarding progress and concerns * Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times by adhering to health and safety guidelines * Drive children to appointments or activities as required, maintaining a clean driving record * Keep accurate records of care provided, observations, and any incidents in line with organisational policies * Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive environment that encourages confidence and independence Qualifications * Experience working with children in a childcare or support setting is highly desirable * Knowledge of child development principles and care planning processes * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written * Compassionate nature with strong organisational skills * Ability to work flexibly according to organisational needs, including occasional evenings or weekends if required This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting children's growth and development within a caring team environment
