Ten years. That’s how long it takes to truly understand how banks buy, what makes them stall, and what finally gets a deal over the line. We’re looking for someone who has earned that understanding - not read about it. This is a senior sales leadership opportunity for a proven enterprise software sales professional with deep roots in the core banking, digital banking, or banking technology transformation space. You’ve spent a decade navigating the complexity of financial institutions - from retail banks and building societies to global commercial banks - and you know how to build the internal momentum a deal like this requires. You understand that selling to a bank isn’t just about the product. It’s about trust, timing, internal politics, and being the person the CTO calls before the RFP goes out.

Joining a high-growth financial technology business, you will take ownership of enterprise sales across the UK and European banking market. You’ll be selling a next-generation platform into institutions undergoing significant core modernisation, cloud migration, and digital channel transformation - the deals that define a bank’s next decade.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Driving new logo acquisition and strategic account growth across UK and European tier one and tier two financial institutions
  • Leading complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles — from first conversation through to commercial close and contract execution
  • Engaging at C-suite level: CTO, CIO, CDO, COO, and Chief Digital Officer — as a peer, not a vendor
  • Building and maintaining a healthy, qualified pipeline with rigorous CRM and forecasting discipline
  • Positioning the platform credibly against established incumbents in competitive RFP and procurement processes
  • Shaping go-to-market strategy based on client insight and market intelligence
  • Representing the business at key UK and European banking industry events, forums, and client roundtables
  • Mentoring and influencing junior sales and business development team members where relevant

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum 10 years in enterprise software sales, with the majority spent selling into retail banks, commercial banks, challenger banks, or building societies
  • Deep domain knowledge across: core banking modernisation, digital banking platforms, cloud-native banking infrastructure, customer engagement layers, or banking-as-a-service (BaaS)
  • Proven track record closing large, complex, multi-year software and SaaS contracts - seven-figure deal experience strongly preferred
  • Background at a leading enterprise banking technology vendor - you know the sales process, the implementation reality, and the competitive dynamics from the inside
  • Fluency in the language of banking technology: core system architecture, digital channels, API banking, cloud migration, legacy transformation, microservices
  • An established network across UK and European banking technology and digital leadership
  • London-based with willingness to travel across the UK and Europe as required

HIGHLY DESIRABLE

  • Experience selling to challenger banks, neobanks, or digital-first financial institutions
  • Exposure to open banking, PSD2, or embedded finance commercial conversations
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and SaaS transition in regulated banking environments
  • Understanding of the UK and European regulatory landscape (FCA, PRA, EBA)

WHAT’S ON OFFER

  • Senior base salary commensurate with 10+ years of elite enterprise sales experience
  • Uncapped commission with accelerators
  • Equity participation / long-term incentive plan
  • Hybrid working from London
  • Dedicated pre-sales, solutions, and delivery support
  • A genuine seat at the table: direct influence on product direction, market strategy, and company growth
  • Full benefits: private health, pension, life assurance, and annual leave above statutory minimum

If you’ve spent the last decade becoming one of the best at selling banking technology - and you’re ready for a role where that expertise is genuinely valued and highly rewarded - we’d like to speak with you. Apply directly or reach out for a confidential conversation.
