Here, we help each other be the best we can be: a team big enough to impact and small enough to care. At IOP Publishing, our mission is to make science accessible, discoverable and impactful. As our new Campaign Manager, you will play a vital role in bringing research to life — helping authors, reviewers, readers and conference organisers discover and engage with our journals and products. This is a highly creative and data-informed marketing role where you will shape strategic campaigns, tell compelling stories, and deliver measurable results. About the Role

  • Working closely with the Marketing Manager and Head of Content & Engagement Marketing, you’ll develop and deliver the strategic vision for your portfolio of journals or product areas.
  • You’ll be responsible for the planning, performance and delivery of multi-channel marketing campaigns that support our core business goals.
  • Develop annual marketing strategies and SMART objectives aligned with the publishing strategy for your portfolio.
  • Plan, prioritise and deliver multi-channel campaigns across email, social media, paid search, advertising, events (virtual and in-person) and more.
  • Use data insights and creative storytelling to design campaigns that drive content growth, usage, visibility and customer engagement.
  • Manage marketing budgets, ensuring strong ROI and clear performance reporting.
  • Work with design colleagues to create consistent, impactful visual identities and marketing collateral.
  • Collaborate with publishing teams to understand product positioning and campaign needs.
  • Partner with the communications team to amplify content through press releases, interviews, news stories and other channels.
  • Represent Marketing in meetings, sharing insight and contributing to strategic discussions.
  • Measure, track and report performance across all activities using tools such as Adestra, Google Adwords, Hootsuite, Business Objects, MasterVision and more.
  • Conduct customer research and monitor competitor activity to inform future opportunities and improve customer engagement.
  • Contribute to cross-departmental projects that further organisational goals.

This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact across a diverse portfolio while learning from a supportive, collaborative team.

About You

  • Experience developing and delivering marketing strategies and tactical plans.
  • A clear understanding of multi-channel marketing campaigns and how to use different platforms effectively.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with confidence working with colleagues at all levels.
  • Experience managing budgets and evaluating performance against objectives.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • A proactive, curious mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Strong copywriting and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
  • Knowledge of the STM publishing landscape or Open Access models (desirable, not essential).
  • A professional marketing qualification or equivalent experience (desirable).
