We have a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced Revenue Assistant to join our busy team on a 12 month fixed term contract.

Role Overview

The Revenue Assistant is a varied role which encompasses all aspects of the billing and cash collection functions, including processing invoice and credit notes and ensuring that aged debt is managed effectively. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all credit control queries are responded to in a timely fashion and customers are chased when payment is overdue in accordance with internal policy. They will also need to understand a wide range of complex billing processes across the IOP Group and deliver service tailored to each entity.

Customer focus and a collaborative approach is key to all our Finance roles. The Revenue Assistant plays an important role in facilitating customers to pay their invoices. Our customers are across the globe, requiring sensitivity to language, cultural norms and time differences. The team also works closely with other Finance teams and the wider business to ensure a streamlined approach to billing and collections, providing the best possible customer service, revenue reporting and tax compliance.

What will you be doing? Key job accountabilities include:

  • Responsible for the raising of invoices, credit notes and refunds across the group. Responsible for all debt chasing activities for your assigned ledger and deploying the most appropriate method of chasing by letter, telephone and e-mail for allocated accounts.
  • Providing excellent customer service to all stakeholders, both internal and external. This includes managing the team mailboxes.
  • Daily reconciliation of online credit card payment transactions, including payment posting and allocation.
  • Responsible for maintaining records against the accounts receivable ledger and ensuring all customer notes are up to date at all times on the relevant system.
  • Process documentation is kept up to date and made easily accessible through both the quality of notes and appropriate filing.
  • Championing continuous improvement. Working with colleagues, customers and the systems development team to identify and implement process efficiency.
  • Cross train with Finance Assistants within the Financial Operations and provide flexible support and cover.

About you:

Successful applicants should demonstrate the following:

Professional qualifications

  • AAT or CICM Qualified of Studier (desirable)

Knowledge & previous experience

  • Billing and cash collection background, ideally with experience supporting overseas entities.
  • Experience of developing relationships and influencing the debt collection processes.
  • Supporting a range of customers across different locations within a complex environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of Finance and debt collection systems.
  • Experience of working with foreign currency transactions.
  • Great communication skills including the ability to explain numbers to non-finance professionals and adapt style of written and oral communication appropriately.
  • Solution orientated to ensure quick resolution where challenges arise.
  • Excellent teamwork and organisational skills; adaptable and collaborative attitude.
  • Intermediate excel skills (vlookups, pivots etc.).
