Fasthosts and IONOS are building the next generation of Hosting & Mail products from the ground up and need a Development Team Leader who can inspire an experienced software engineering team, raise the bar on architecture and delivery, and help us ship products that will become the new standard for hosting and email services across Europe and beyond. If you enjoy leading people, solving technical problems and improving how teams deliver software, this role could be a strong match.
What will you be doing?
You will manage a cross-functional team of Developers and Architect specialists working across a range of products and projects to bring our new products to market and iterate over ongoing enhancements. No two days are the same, and you will see your team’s work directly contribute to business success. Your team owns what it builds, so you will be involved in everything from planning and delivery through to support and ongoing improvements. You will also work closely with Product to turn ideas into clear, actionable work, keep agile practices running effectively, and support our move towards modern architectures.
Hours/work Pattern
- 40/week, Monday to Friday
- Office-based, hybrid working 2-3 days/week (with flexible start/end times to help you balance life and work)

- Basic salary range starts from £70,000+ depending on experience and skills

What experience do you need under your belt?
- Experience leading and developing software teams - doesn’t matter if this is as an existing manager, a team leader, or from supporting and deputising
- Strong background in software engineering, with the ability to recognise great code and drive technical quality in your team
- Strong awareness of secure coding practices and security considerations for web-facing systems
- Hands-on experience with agile delivery processes to keep work moving smoothly
- Good understanding of system design and software architecture, and how to ensure software remains performant at scale
- Familiarity with DevOps/GitOps methods of working to help you integrate quickly into our environment
- Clear, confident communication skills for working with your team, the wider department and our international colleagues
- Experience of AI tooling in coding and the ability to drive AI adoption as a multiplier for development team velocity
