We are currently looking for an experienced Site Manager to join an established construction company delivering high-end residential projects across Manchester and Greater Manchester.

The company specialises in luxury new-build homes, high-end refurbishments, extensions and bespoke residential projects, with a strong reputation for quality workmanship and attention to detail.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager looking for ongoing work with the potential for a permanent position for the right person.

A joinery or carpentry background would be highly desirable, particularly for someone who has progressed from the tools into site management and understands the level of finish expected on high-end residential projects.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of residential construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest possible standard.

You will work closely with the Contracts Manager, Project Manager, trades, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to ensure projects run smoothly from start to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day running of high-end residential construction sites.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and site trades.
  • Ensure work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with drawings and specifications.
  • Manage site programmes and ensure projects remain on schedule.
  • Coordinate deliveries, materials and site logistics.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, contractors and other project stakeholders.
  • Monitor workmanship and ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the project.
  • Manage and coordinate trades, with particular attention to sequencing and productivity.
  • Identify and resolve issues on site quickly and effectively.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure all works comply with relevant Building Regulations, health & safety requirements and company procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and professional site.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and monitor progress.
  • Assist with snagging, completion and handover.
  • Maintain site records, reports and relevant documentation.
  • Support the wider project team with programme, procurement and coordination requirements.
  • Represent the company professionally when dealing with clients and other stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing high-end residential construction projects and be confident taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of a site.

Essential

  • Previous experience as a Site Manager / Site Supervisor / Senior Site Supervisor.
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction.
  • Excellent understanding of site management, sequencing and subcontractor coordination.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
  • Good understanding of health & safety requirements.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of a project.
  • Professional approach when dealing with clients and subcontractors.

Desirable

  • Joinery/carpentry background or experience working on the tools.
  • Experience within high-end residential construction.
  • Experience with new builds, extensions and major refurbishments.
  • Relevant Site Management / Health & Safety qualifications.
  • SMSTS.
  • First Aid.
  • CSCS.
  • Experience working on projects where quality and finish are particularly important.
