We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established residential housebuilder. You will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple housing developments, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with company profitability targets. This is a hands-on role covering the full project lifecycle, from pre-contract through to final account.
Responsibilities
- Full commercial responsibility for new-build residential developments
- Preparation and management of budgets, cost plans, and forecasts
- Procuring and managing subcontractor packages
- Preparing and issuing tender documentation
- Subcontractor appointment, negotiation, and contract administration
- Valuing works, assessing variations, and managing change control
- Monthly cost value reconciliation (CVR) reporting
- Processing subcontractor payments and final accounts
- Liaising closely with Site Managers, Project Managers, and Technical teams
- Ensuring compliance with company procedures and commercial controls
- Managing risk and maximising project profitability
- Attending site meetings as required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within residential housebuilding
- Strong understanding of traditional and design & build contracts
- Experience managing multiple housing plots/phases simultaneously
- Good knowledge of NHBC standards and residential construction methods
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial software
- Full UK driving licence
