We are seeking an experienced freelance Site Manager to support a high-volume new build housing development. This is a fast-paced role requiring immediate impact, with a strong focus on driving programme, managing subcontractors, and maintaining build quality across multiple plots. You will be expected to take control of site operations quickly, ensure momentum is maintained, and deliver units in line with tight build schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for day-to-day site operations on a busy housing development
- Drive build programme across multiple plots to meet strict deadlines
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors to ensure productivity and sequencing
- Maintain high standards of health and safety in line with company and legal requirements
- Carry out plot inspections and enforce quality standards (NHBC compliance)
- Identify and resolve issues quickly to avoid programme delays
- Manage site logistics, including materials, labour, and deliveries
- Maintain accurate records (site diary, RAMS, progress updates)
- Support handover process and ensure plots are completed to required standard
- Report progress and challenges to Contracts Manager
Key Requirements
- Proven track record as a Site Manager within volume housebuilding
- Experience working at pace across multiple units/plots
- Strong working knowledge of NHBC standards and UK building regulations
- Ability to hit the ground running with minimal supervision
- Confident managing subcontractors in a fast-moving environment
