IONETIC is a battery technology start-up based in Brackley, specialising in battery pack solutions for low-volume electrified applications, including buses, sports cars, and other vehicles. As an early-stage employee, you will play a key role in developing the foundational technologies and capabilities that will power the next generation of electric vehicles.

As part of the procurement team, you will help bring to life the capabilities to meet the demands of a new tier one supplier for the Electrified application market. This includes establishing a new supply chain that can support the growing demand from prototype to series production for our markets including automotive.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the team to plan, develop and implement a supply base that supports the life cycle phases of a tier one supplier of battery modules and packs to the automotive market, meeting the company targets of quality, cost, and performance.
  • Establish and grow the capabilities of the procurement activities including processes, systems, and supplier lists.
  • Act as the key contact point for the supply base.
  • Work closely with internal and external design teams to ensure the supply base can meet the demands of the products and technology.
  • Contribute to the procurement aspects to support new business studies for new programmes/customers, including estimates, cost, lead-times etc.
  • Manage supply issues through to resolution, including management and/or supplier reporting and supplier performance.
  • Create Purchase Orders supporting R&D, Production, indirect goods and follow up on orders and delivery dates on a regular basis.
  • Attend meetings at supplier’s sites as required.
  • Manage both incoming and dispatch materials.
  • Assist with stock replenishment and inventory management.
  • Ensure adherence to all company and customer standards, policies and processes.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous proven experience within a similar role, ideally within the automotive industry.
  • Relevant business/commercial/manufacturing degree or NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge and experience of ISO9001 or TS16949.
  • A strong and confident negotiator with great business acumen.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to all levels of organisation and customers.
  • GCSE or equivalent education passes in Maths and English.
  • A strong IT skillset including Confluence and Windows based software with accurate and efficient data entry skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and effectively within a small team as well as under own initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to enable good working relationships with supply chain and the organisation.
  • A highly organised individual with good attention to detail, adaptable and open to change with a positive “can-do” attitude.
  • Valid UK driving licence or other suitable arrangements for business travel.
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally as required by the role.
