Debtwire, an ION Analytics company and the leading provider of news and analysis for the global fixed income markets, is seeking a reporter to cover the European private credit market. Debtwire provides sophisticated investors and advisors with deep-dive coverage of public and private companies, with an emphasis on high-yield bonds, leveraged loans and private credit, from new issuance through stress, distress and restructuring.
The Reporter role is focused on breaking news on companies in need of private credit for M&A, refinancing and organic growth. This is not a loan pricing position β you will write in depth stories on investor sentiment about new issuance and broader market trends. The reporter will be part of a team of journalists and credit and legal analysts based in London and around our global offices.
Key Responsibilities:- Reporting, writing, and filing copy on a daily basis
- Writing in-depth, substantive articles
- Contributing to special projects such as conferences, databases, webinars and podcasts
- Assisting with developing coverage outside of assigned beats
- Cultivating and meeting with sources
- In-region travel as necessary
- At least two yearsβ experience covering debt markets
- Private credit and/or leveraged loans reporting experience a plus
- Knowledge and experience reporting on mergers and acquisitions a plus
- Strong writing skills and an investigative mindset
- Time management and communication skills
- Networking and contact-building skills
- A self-starter attitude with a cooperative approach
