CNC Miller Aerospace Immediate start 13-week contract £27.50 to £41.00 per hour Ion Tec recruitment is looking to secure the services of a CNC Miller to support a project on a 13-week contract. This is an immediate assignment with anticipated 60 hours per week that may include shifts. This a production role setting & operating a Hartford machine with Fanuc controls. If you are immediately available, have worked in precision manufacturing environments, we would like to hear from you.
The Role
- Production work to high standard and tight tolerances; setting & operating CNC Milling machines - ensuring every component meets stringent aerospace standards.
- You’ll play a key role in maintaining quality, efficiency, and continuity across production.
- Loading and unloading tooling to carry out machining operations.
- Working to fine tolerances across a range of materials, following detailed work instructions.
- Performing visual and dimensional inspections.
- Using precision measuring equipment (gauges, verniers).
- Operating one or more CNC machines simultaneously.
- Ensuring all products meet customer and internal standards (including NADCAP and AS9100).
- Documenting processes and clearly communicating any irregularities.
What We’re Looking For
- You’ll be a skilled, detail-focused engineer with experience in precision manufacturing.
- Essential:
- Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship or equivalent).
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in a precision manufacturing environment (aerospace preferred but not essential).
- Strong experience with Fanuc controls.
- Ability to work to tight tolerances and strict quality standards.
- Experience working to production targets.
- Self-inspection with use of hand tools, eg micrometers, vernier calipers.
- Flexibility with operational hours.
