The Opportunity
We’re experiencing exciting growth and need a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our close-knit team of 5 skilled engineers. We’re looking for someone whose strengths and interests will complement our team, whether that’s in detailed draughting or innovative design development. Every project is different. One week you might be designing a complex conveyor system for a power station; the next, you could be solving structural challenges for a quarrying operation. What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing bespoke materials handling equipment, conveying systems, and supporting structural frameworks using SolidWorks
- Collaborating with a talented engineering team on diverse projects across multiple industries
- Taking projects from concept through to manufacture, seeing your work make a tangible impact
- Engaging with clients to understand requirements and deliver tailored engineering solutions
- Contributing your expertise to challenging technical problems in heavy industrial environments
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of design experience in mechanical engineering
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (or demonstrable expertise in other CAD platforms)
- Background in heavy engineering, structural steelwork, bespoke industrial equipment, conveyors, or materials handling systems
- Valid UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Engineering qualification (HNC level or above; Level 3 apprenticeship-trained engineers welcome)
- Health & Safety certification (IOSH or NEBOSH)
- A passion for solving complex engineering challenges
