We are looking for a skilled and motivated Workshop Electrician to join our growing engineering and manufacturing team based in Dewsbury.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician who enjoys working in a workshop environment, building, wiring, testing and commissioning electrical systems and control panels for industrial equipment and machinery.

The Role

As a Workshop Electrician, you will be responsible for the assembly, wiring, testing and fault finding of electrical systems and equipment to a high standard.

Working closely with our engineering and production teams, you will ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, wire and assemble electrical control panels and industrial equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
  • Carry out electrical installation, testing and inspection of manufactured equipment.
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical faults.
  • Ensure all work complies with current electrical regulations and company quality standards.
  • Work collaboratively with mechanical engineers and production personnel to deliver projects on time.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Recognised Electrical Qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
  • Previous experience as a Workshop Electrician within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience in panel wiring, machine wiring or industrial electrical assembly.
  • Strong fault-finding skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with control panels, PLC wiring and industrial automation.
  • Knowledge of three-phase systems, motors, inverters and control circuits.
  • Electrical testing and inspection experience.
  • Familiarity with machinery build and commissioning.
