An international manufacturer of critical parts to aerospace customers is looking to secure the services of a first-class Laser Operator.
Working with exotic materials to tight tolerance you will be supported by the manufacturing team after an initial 13-week training & induction period.
It is expected that you will be an Apprenticed Engineer with experience of working within process driven manufacturing environments where quality is paramount, and standards are high.
You will oversee the full machining cycle including visual & dimensional inspection, tooling changes, maintain continuity through documenting actions and communicating actions/irregularities etc.
An overview of the duties and responsibilities will include,
* To set laser cutting fixtures to machine datumβs.
* To perform laser cutting operations of the components manufactured.
* To check laser cut components to drawing specifications and ICY fixtures.
* To understand machine parameters and check against data cards.
* Maintain standard of all fixtures associated with Laser process.
* Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, etc.
* Ensure products are to the correct tolerances and meet customer as well as internal standards and specifications (NADCAP and AS9100 standards)
* Keep equipment operational by completing autonomous maintenance and calibration requirements.
* Other duties as assigned, requested, or needed.
Position requirement,
* NVQ/qualification in Engineering discipline is desirable.
* Proven track record in a Laser operating position β minimum 3 years is essential, preferably within aerospace.
* Trumpf machine experience is desirable.
* Basic understanding of lean principles (5S) is desirable.
* Experience of working to production targets is essential.
