Software QA Automation Tester Location: Guildford, Surrey. Office Based (Monday to Friday) Salary: Starting around £45k, plus performance bonus, and a blue-chip package. About the Role: Join a global leader in software solutions as an Automated Software Test Engineer. You’ll play a key role in our client’s software product team, testing advanced software used to tackle complex engineering challenges worldwide. This office-based role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge technology from Monday to Friday. Current Automation Test Framework and Stack: * The client is building a new test framework and are looking at Selenium/Appium with Cucumber /Specflow BDD framework for web based applications. * The technology stack is SQL Server * Database/GRPC for the service layer * WPF and Blazor for the interface. Key Responsibilities: * UI & Automated Testing: Conduct both UI and script-based automated testing to ensure software quality. * Test Case Development: Define and develop comprehensive test cases for new software features. * Test Planning: Design and implement test plans for software releases. * Issue Tracking: Log, track, and assist in resolving issues to support product teams. * Test Environment Setup: Develop and manage test environments on virtual and remote machines. * Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and perform root cause analysis of reported issues. * Test Strategy: Contribute to and develop test strategies, including assessing technologies and methods for continuous integration, testing, and product delivery. Required Skills & Experience: * Experience: 3+ years in enterprise-level software testing. * Technical Skills: Proven experience in Automated Testing (Selenium or similar). Some web API experience. Knowledge of CI/CD processes and software development lifecycle. * Education: Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. * Desirable: Experience or interest in .NET, C#, SQL Server, or Automated Test Frameworks. * Communication: Strong writing skills for documenting test processes and outcomes.
