About the role
We are seeking an experienced Field Application Specialist (FAS) to join our Customer Experience team in this newly created role as we consolidate our leading market position and expand into new market segments. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise to IonOpticks’ current customers throughout Europe and the UK, including technical onboarding and troubleshooting, while building strong relationships with our customers, partners and stakeholders in their territory. The FAS will also support the sales team in expanding our customer base through product demonstrations. There is a requirement to travel approx. 50% of the time (national and international).
What you will be doing
- The FAS will be an integral part of our Customer Experience team fostering strong collaboration with both the R&D and Sales divisions of the company.
- The FAS will act as a domain expert in LC‑MS based proteomics, be the product expert for IonOpticks’ portfolio of products, and serve as the primary technical point of contact for IonOpticks’ prospects and customers.
- Working alongside and supporting the Business Development Managers you play a vital part in helping existing customers and winning new ones.
- You will also be responsible for:
- Planning and delivering user training and customer onboarding programs.
- Assisting with inbound customer inquiries, problem solving and/or managing investigations and the creation of solutions.
- Supporting Business Development Managers (BDMs) in the EU and the UK with product and application expertise.
- Working closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, applications specialists, product management, development, marketing and events, to ensure aligned customer solutions and market strategies.
- Developing and implementing initiatives to penetrate adjacent markets by understanding workflows and positioning IonOpticks products to address unique needs.
- Contributing to the creation of technical customer support material and processes.
- Representing the company at industry events, which may include giving technical presentations.
- Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of CRM records.
The skills & experience you’ll need for this job
- Deep, practical understanding of LC‑MS based proteomic workflows and for supporting scientists and salespeople.
- Expertise in building long‑term customer relationships, fostering trust, and delivering tailored solutions.
- A track record of working collaboratively with scientists and commercially minded people; product management, engineering, sales, support functions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are vital, alongside introducing new developments to new audiences.
