Due to our expanding workload, ION Glass Limited is looking for an experienced Structural Glass Installer / Fitter to join our established installation team in West Sussex. We specialise in the design and installation of wholly bespoke structural and architectural glass, working on a diverse range of projects for private clients, architects, designers and contractors. Our portfolio includes prestigious contemporary properties as well as historic, heritage and listed buildings, where modern structural glass is installed in architecturally sensitive environments. These projects require particular care and an understanding of the importance of protecting and respecting the historic fabric and character of the building.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced glass installer who takes pride in their work and enjoys the challenge and variety involved in delivering high-quality bespoke installations.

The Role

Working as part of our installation team, you will be involved in fitting a wide variety of structural and architectural glass products and assemblies. You will be confident working with structural glass and associated hardware and understand the precision, care and attention required when handling and installing specialist glass products. Many of our installations take place within heritage and listed properties, where sensitivity to the existing building is essential. You will be expected to work carefully around historic materials, finishes and architectural features, respecting and protecting the property throughout the installation. Our projects frequently involve high-end properties and prestigious clients, so professionalism, excellent workmanship and attention to detail are essential. Projects are based throughout the UK, so the role will involve regular travel from our West Sussex base.

What We’re Looking For

  • A thorough working knowledge of structural glass assemblies, fittings and associated hardware
  • The ability to read and work accurately from technical drawings
  • Strong practical and problem-solving skills
  • A careful and methodical approach when handling and installing glass
  • An appreciation of the additional care required when working within heritage, historic and listed buildings
  • A professional and well-presented approach when working in clients’ homes and on high-profile projects
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a two-person or larger installation team
  • A positive attitude and willingness to undertake further training
  • A current full UK driving licence

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary, based on skills and experience
  • A permanent position with an established specialist glass company
  • Interesting, challenging and varied projects
  • Opportunities to work on prestigious contemporary, heritage and listed properties
  • Company vehicles during working hours
  • On-the-job training and opportunities to develop your skills
