If protecting people and the planet is your thing – and we mean it's what really drives you – you’re in the right place.

Perhaps you’ve outgrown your current role, or you feel disconnected from an employer whose values don’t align with yours. Whatever your reason for reading this, you’re probably looking for more than shared ideals; you need a team that empowers you to take meaningful action and trusts you to create real impact.

Welcome to iON Consultants.

We advocate for safe and sustainable spaces where people and the environment thrive. Our brilliant, ambitious people are trusted to work hard and enjoy making a difference. We know what good looks like and how to achieve it. This makes our work meaningful, challenging and fulfilling. We have created a culture where purpose drives progress - one where everyone can be free to love work.

Our purpose

We help our customers navigate the often complex world of health and safety, ensuring they perform at their best while keeping their teams healthy and happy. We’re pretty niche - we have a strong presence in the asbestos, health and safety and CDM world, but we’re also hot on quality and environmental standards.

We support a range of interesting organisations across both the public and private sectors, allowing us to connect with fascinating people and places throughout the UK. As well as educational institutions, social housing associations and modular home builders, our customers include a regal postal service, a mass spectrometer manufacturer and a fruit corner yoghurt producer. We provide pragmatic advice and practical support that help customers meet regulatory and performance goals while delivering projects safely, competently and sustainably.

At iON, we know that our success is defined not just by what we achieve but also by how we accomplish it. From supporting our communities to prioritising environmental action, we are committed to making a positive impact on the world in which we live and work. Our focus is on achieving net zero and offsetting our carbon emissions, and we assist our customers in doing the same whenever possible. We also work with charities and social projects to improve the lives of people living in our local communities. These are the values that define and reward us.

Is this you?

We're recruiting for an energetic, enthusiastic and engaging Senior Consultant to join our asbestos team and help us make a real impact. You'll be at the heart of our mission to raise industry standards, working to expand our reach, build lasting relationships with new customers, and deliver an exceptional service. We will give you autonomy over your projects and trust you to bring fresh ideas and innovative solutions that drive ongoing growth.

We're seeking an experienced asbestos consultant with CoCA or P401 – P405 and a minimum industry experience of 5 years who is eager to progress their career away from the traditional asbestos consultancy world. Ideally, you'll have expertise in the sectors we serve, with a robust understanding of the Control of Asbestos regulations and all the associated guidance and experience of supporting duty holders with compliance.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Support and manage asbestos technical consultancy projects, ensuring compliance with CAR 2012 and other relevant regulations.
  • Support on project planning and budget management to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
  • Provide advice on the duty to manage asbestos management, risk assessments, remediation strategies, etc.
  • Undertake site or desktop-based audits, ensuring reporting is completed to a high standard following internal asbestos management procedures.
  • Ensure the successful execution of large scale asbestos survey and remediation programmes reporting with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to act as an independent Asbestos Subject matter Expert (SME) with support from the wider team of Principal Consultants and Technical Director.
  • Support in the review and approve colleagues’ technical reports (internal QC).
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing technical guidance, compliance support, and training.

If you're a purpose-driven individual passionate about creating lasting change in an industry shaped by ever‑evolving regulations, we can't wait for you to hear from you.
