What the Role Involves
As a Delivery Lead, you are responsible for driving the successful delivery of complex and cross-functional initiatives within your domain. You oversee multiple delivery streams or interconnected projects, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and cross-team coordination. You work with Product, Engineering, and senior stakeholders to facilitate delivery planning (including PI Planning where relevant), manage risk and dependencies at scale, and guide continuous improvement across teams. You are a key enabler of execution excellence and operational alignment within a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and guide delivery for complex initiatives involving multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment with business strategy.
- Translate strategic objectives into scalable delivery plans and roadmaps, identify risks and orchestrate mitigation plans.
- Own the delivery framework within a functional area and contribute to evolving delivery standards across the organization.
- Lead and coordinate PI Planning across multiple workstreams or teams, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and delivery timelines.
- Coordinate across business units and external partners to manage dependencies and resource needs at scale.
- Represent delivery in senior planning conversations, surface blockers and propose solutions.
- Guide teams in managing ambiguity and resolving cross-team delivery conflicts.
- Define and oversee delivery KPIs, capacity planning, and OKRs across multiple teams or portfolios.
- Lead high-impact reporting and stakeholder communication, providing visibility to senior leadership and executives.
- Ensure high quality and timely delivery of externally committed work and regulatory deliverables.
- Mentor Delivery Managers and other delivery roles, fostering ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Support leadership in developing team capacity and succession planning for delivery talent.
- Drive process transformation to improve delivery velocity, predictability, and quality.
- Champion agile delivery innovation and pilot new models or tools that enhance performance at scale.
- Facilitate portfolio retrospectives and sponsor continuous learning cycles across teams.
Qualifications
- Typically 7+ years of experience in delivery-focused roles (e.g., Delivery Manager, Program Manager, Project Manager).
- 3+ years of experience overseeing multiple teams or delivery streams.
- Experience coordinating delivery across cross-functional teams in a scaled agile environment.
- Experience with delivery metrics, reporting, and governance.
- Proven exposure to working with senior stakeholders and vendors.
- Bachelor’s degree in technology, business, or a relevant field.
- Strong experience with agile delivery frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban).
- Deep understanding of SDLC, DevOps, and cross-functional collaboration models.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor delivery talent.
- Confident in risk management, stakeholder engagement, and roadmap delivery.
- Skilled in delivery metrics, forecasting, and PI planning facilitation.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
