Senior Manager, Wells & Security in London

Location: IOGP London office. Able and willing to travel extensively to both domestic and international locations.

What You’ll Do:

• Strategic Direction: Develop strategic direction for the Wells and Security Standing Committees and Subcommittees with the relevant Chairs and Vice-Chairs, and lead delivery of the IOGP Wells and Security Strategies through risk-based prioritisation.
• Committee Management: Manage the performance of the Wells and Security Committees against the IOGP Business Plan, deliver administrative and operational support in line with Committee Operating Procedures, and ensure activities comply with applicable antitrust laws.
• Data & Content Development: Collect and analyse relevant data and trends to inform recommendations to the Safety Director and Subcommittee Chairs, manage the publication of deliverables through the IOGP publication process, and manage supplier tendering, award and budgets.
• Regulatory Engagement: Maintain a strategic overview of the regulatory landscape for wells safety and lead engagement with the International Regulators’ Forum (IRF), individual regulators and other policy-setting stakeholders, translating engagement into thought leadership for Members.
• Communications & External Events: Own the communications programme for Wells and Security, build and leverage stakeholder relationships across members, regulators and business partners, and represent IOGP’s positions at external conferences and forums, including as a speaker.
• People Development: Contribute to a positive, inclusive team culture, and train, coach and mentor less experienced team members.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Substantial senior-level experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Degree level (Bachelor’s/Master’s or equivalent) in Engineering or a related field.
• 10 to 15 years of relevant experience within the Oil and Gas sector.
• Strong understanding of Oil and Gas well delivery and operations and/or associated disciplines.

Key Skills and Knowledge:

• Understanding of emerging risks in the areas of discipline of the respective committees.
• Experience with (cultural) change management processes and the ability to build consensus positions.
• Broad knowledge of key challenges of digital transformation in the energy industry, with awareness of developments in other industries.
• Ability to think at a wider strategic level and incorporate IOGP’s business strategy into committee work and products.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills in English.
• Business improvement and team facilitation qualifications.
• Proficiency in an additional language.
