iO Associates is working with an innovative renewable energy business developing tidal power systems. They are looking for a Senior Systems Integration Engineer to lead the end-to-end integration of complex marine energy platforms and turbines – from quayside commissioning to offshore deployment.
This is a unique opportunity to directly influence the success of flagship UK and international tidal projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead integration of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems
Oversee assembly, testing, and commissioning of tidal platforms and turbines
Manage SCADA, environmental monitoring, and platform management integration
Troubleshoot complex issues during offshore deployment and operation
Liaise with supply chain, fabrication yards, and specialist contractors
Feed operational learnings into design improvements to reduce LCOE and improve reliability
Represent the company in technical forums, JIPs, and client-facing reviews
What You\’ll Bring:
7+ years\’ engineering experience, ideally in marine, offshore renewables, or subsea systems
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Control Systems, or Systems Engineering (postgraduate preferred)
Strong background in hydraulics, electrical power, and control software integration
Proficiency with engineering tools (MatLab, LabVIEW) and coding (Python, C++)
Track record of leading multi-disciplinary projects from design to commissioning
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Desirable:
Chartered Engineer (or working towards)
Experience with offshore/subsea structures
Knowledge of modular \”plug-and-play\” integration in marine environments
