A well-respected Manufacturing company with multiple sites in the UK are looking for a highly experienced Quality Engineer on a new 6-month contract, which is highly likely to extend. The company work at the forefront of their industry and have recently won awards for their growth and pioneering engineering.

Shop Floor & Department Organisation
Monitor shop floor layout and organisation of Quality department areas in conjunction with the QC & Assembly Team.
Ensure layouts are optimised for efficiency across all work streams.
Quality Management & Control
Lead 8D activities and manage customer complaints through to resolution.
Conduct investigations using microtome and microscope, providing feedback to relevant stakeholders.
Lead the Product Audit function within the Quality Control Department.
Oversee hold areas and stock control of non-conforming products from internal sources, suppliers, and returns.
Ensure all products comply with performance specifications and meet 100% usability requirements.
Continuous Improvement & Projects
Support continuous improvement initiatives across QC and Assembly.
Manage planned and unplanned projects for new product development.
Actively support APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities
Control Plan and FMEA attendance/submission
Audits & Compliance
Undertake internal and external audits in line with business accreditations.
Ensure compliance with quality management systems, health & safety, environmental policies, legal requirements, and duty of care.
Customer, Supplier & Equipment Liaison
Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve quality issues.
Support customer and supplier visits as required.
Work with measurement equipment suppliers for new machines, upgrades, training, repairs, and calibration.
Team Support & KPI Monitoring
Assist in team evaluations and staff development.
Monitor QC & Assembly Team performance against KPIs using daily charts, Quality Boards, and SPM.
Assist the Quality Control & Assembly Manager in achieving all stated quality KPIs
