We are working with an innovative engineering business seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to play a key role in the development of complex, high-value equipment used in advanced manufacturing environments. This position sits at the heart of the engineering and product development function, with responsibility spanning the full product lifecycle - from early concept and definition through to customer commissioning and field trials.
The successful candidate will apply best-practice Systems Engineering methods to help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to specification.
The role involves:
- Applying Systems Engineering tools and methodologies to bring structure and clarity to complex technical challenges.
- Translating product vision into clear, concise requirements using techniques such as use cases, context diagrams, system architectures and related methods.
- Using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approaches to develop functional, logical and behavioural architectures.
- Working cross-functionally with engineering teams to define work packages, support trade-off studies and resolve technical issues.
- Leading, mentoring and developing Systems Engineers at varying levels of experience.
- Supporting the ongoing development of Systems Engineering processes and helping embed Systems Engineering best practice across the wider business.
- Collaborating effectively across multiple teams.
