Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and validation of advanced DSP algorithms for satellite communication systems, with a focus on modulation, coding, and synchronization.
  • Optimise algorithms for enhanced performance, energy efficiency, and alignment with hardware constraints.
  • Implement theoretical systems into high-performance software in C++ and/or FPGA environments, ensuring robustness and scalability.
  • Collaborate closely across interdisciplinary teams, including systems, RF, hardware, and software engineers, to deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • Participate in innovation projects, including prototyping and evaluating new communication technologies.
  • Contribute to all stages of product development from conceptual modelling, simulation, to real-world validation.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Master's degree or higher in signals processing, communications engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in DSP theory, including channel coding (LDPC, turbo codes), digital modulation/demodulation, synchronization, and channel estimation.
  • Strong experience in modelling and simulation using MATLAB, Python, or similar tools.
  • Practical implementation experience in high-performance C++ development (e.g., SIMD) or FPGA design (RTL VHDL/Verilog, HLS tools).
  • Sound understanding of multi-rate systems and detection/estimation theories.
  • Demonstrable ability to link theoretical concepts with practical hardware solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator capable of liaising across technical disciplines.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of relevant PHY standards such as CCSDS, DVB-S2X, DVB-RCS2, or 5G NR.
