As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will be instrumental in optimising production processes, implementing continuous improvement strategies, and ensuring operational excellence. Key Responsibilities- Manage and optimise manufacturing systems within designated production cells, ensuring processes are efficient, safe, and aligned with lean principles.
- Support existing products and introduce new products into manufacturing processes, maintaining standards and documentation compliance.
- Lead continuous improvement projects, utilising lean techniques and value engineering to enhance process capability and reduce waste.
- Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and technical documentation for manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Facilitate training and ensure traceability of procedures to develop and sustain workforce competencies.
- Design and implement cell layouts to optimise space and process flow.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to address quality issues and improve component and product standards.
- Monitor process performance using relevant metrics, analysing data to identify areas for improvement.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards.
- Conduct risk assessments to prevent safety incidents and product quality issues, employing techniques such as FMEA and risk mitigation strategies.
- Specification, procurement, and commissioning of capital equipment in line with project requirements.
- Manage process documentation, product routings, and technical data accuracy within production systems.
- Oversee process optimisation and capacity sizing to meet fluctuating demand efficiently.
- Lead activities related to preventative maintenance and engineering changes, ensuring smooth implementation and transition.
- Minimum of five years' experience working with electronics.
- Strong knowledge of assembly processes, CAD data interpretation, and PCB manufacturing standards.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Demonstrable experience in lean manufacturing techniques and process improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, ideally SAP, for manufacturing data and process management.
- Proven project management skills, especially in implementing complex manufacturing projects.
- Competence in root cause analysis tools such as FMEA and problem-solving methodologies.
- Ability to review technical drawings and CAD packages accurately.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, with strong interpersonal and team collaboration abilities.
- Strong analytical skills, high energy levels, and a proactive approach to work.
- Additional knowledge of SAP ERP systems.
- Experience in risk management tools and advanced problem-solving techniques.
