About The Role

As a Product Manager working with the technology at IO Interactive, you will play a central role in shaping the road map, feature set and delivering the vision for our proprietary game engine, Glacier, that for two decades has contributed to shaping the game development world. As part of the Product group, you will collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to ensure the tooling, Editor and engine evolves to meet and exceed the needs of our AAA game development teams, while innovating world class features and usability.

What You Will Do

  • Be part of the Glacier Product group, owning and maintaining the product vision, road map, and backlog for the Glacier Game Engine, ensuring alignment with the company’s game development goals and strategies.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to define, prioritize, and deliver engine features, improvements, and technical innovations.
  • Help envision and design industry defining UX and UI.
  • Define the user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements for implementation.
  • Act as liaison between game teams and the engine development team to gather requirements and ensure the engine supports creative and technical needs, as well as our goals and visions for the technology.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure smooth integration of engine improvements into the game development pipeline.
  • Continuously assess market trends, competitor technologies, and industry advancements to guide the evolution of the Glacier engine.
  • Champion the needs of developers and content creators by advocating for an optimal user experience and workflow efficiency.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment across teams.

Who You Are

  • Experience as a Product Manager, or related role within the game industry, ideally with experience in game engine development.
  • A strong understanding of usability in game engines and game development pipelines.
  • Natural curiosity for technologies and solutions.
  • Passion for UX, innovation and driving technical excellence in game development tools and technology.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance technical and creative needs.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience managing complex projects in a creative environment.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
