Senior Java Engineer / Tech Lead – Contract
I'm looking for a Senior Java Engineer / Tech Lead to join a large-scale product modernisation programme.
This is a hands-on role working across a complex brownfield Java platform. Alongside solving complex technical problems and helping stabilise and modernise the product, you'll play a key role in coaching and mentoring the wider engineering team as they transition towards AI-assisted development.
Looking for:
- Strong hands-on Java engineering experience
- Tech Lead experience, including coaching and mentoring engineers
- Experience with complex brownfield / legacy products
- Experience helping engineering teams adopt AI within their development practices
- Exposure to Spec Driven Development or similar approaches
- Comfortable getting into the code and solving complex technical problems
Contract: Initial 6 months
Rate: £400 day
IR35: Outside IR35
Location: Remote
