Job title: Product Safety Engineer (Product / System Safety)

iO are partnered with a specialist engineering business delivering safety-critical products and systems into highly regulated environments. Now hiring a Product Safety Engineer to act as the focal point for Product & System Safety Assurance, supporting bids and live programmes from early design through to certification / acceptance.
Role responsibilities:
- Establish and deliverSafety Management SystemsandSafety Plans
- Own delivery ofProduct / System Safetyactivities across multiple programmes
- Leadhazard identificationactivity (workshops as required) and maintainhazard logs
- Conductsafety analysisandrisk evaluation(identification, estimation, reduction / ALARP)
- Produce and contribute tosafety casesand supporting certification / assurance artefacts
- Create cleartechnical reportsand present safety progress to internal/external stakeholders
- Provide safety input tobids/proposals(scope, work packages, effort and schedule)
What we’re looking for:
- Proven background deliveringProduct Safety Engineering/System Safetyon complex systems (defence or similarly regulated domains preferred)
- Experience leadingsafety analysis, risk evaluation, and safety casedevelopment
- Strong experience owninghazard logsand running hazard identification / analysis activity
- Working knowledge of relevant standards and regulatory expectations (e.g.Def Stan 00-056,IEC 61508, defence safety regulation)
- Working knowledge ofCE / UKCAcompliance expectations
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management (engineering teams, programme leadership, customers/suppliers)
Due to the nature of this role, you must beeligible to obtain UK Security Clearance(minimum SC) and meetUK nationality requirements.
